The heart behind Poco a Poco
Care built around your child, your family, and real life.
Clinical skill matters. So does helping families feel informed, supported, and confident about the next step.

Founder · Speech-Language Pathologist
Bianca Tumsare, M.S., CCC-SLP
Texas-Licensed · Bilingual English & Spanish
Bianca created Poco a Poco Therapy to provide pediatric speech-language support that feels individualized, collaborative, and genuinely useful in everyday life. Her approach blends clinical reasoning with child-centered interaction, caregiver education, and goals that matter beyond the therapy session.
Her pediatric experience includes speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language needs, early communication, AAC and multimodal communication, feeding and oral-motor skill development, bilingual assessment and treatment, and support for children with complex communication needs.

Clinical experience
Supporting the whole communication picture
Children often have overlapping needs. Care is organized around function rather than treating one skill in isolation.
What families can expect
Warmth, clarity, and practical next steps
Child-centered
Interests, play, sensory preferences, and motivating routines can create more natural opportunities for communication and learning.
Family-centered
Your priorities help shape the plan. Caregiver education and practical carryover strategies are part of the therapy process.
Evidence-based & functional
Assessment and clinical reasoning guide decisions, while therapy targets communication that matters in everyday life.
Bilingual care is more than translation
We consider both languages
A bilingual child’s communication cannot be understood by looking at only one language. English and Spanish may develop differently across people, routines, and environments — and that difference is not automatically a disorder.
Poco a Poco Therapy works with families to understand the child’s full language experience and support communication in the languages that matter at home and in the community.
ASHA’s public guidance explains that multilingual children develop language skills just as other children do, and using multiple languages does not cause or worsen speech-language problems. Their clinical guidance also emphasizes distinguishing language difference from communication disorder.
Listening, understanding, and communicating — across the languages that are part of your child’s life.
“Poco a poco.”
Little by little. Every useful step counts — a clearer sound, a new word, a successful bite, a message on AAC, or a moment when a child feels understood.
